Delicate Arch Star Trails
Oh, how I love a challenge. I've been working really hard this year to figure out the perfect settings for single-image star trails. Before getting this image, I have often failed by overexposing my stars, accidentally stopping the camera too early, etc. But this one is the first I'm really proud of.
Dan Zafra of Capture The Atlas and I took our workshop group to the most prominent feature in Arches National Park, Delicate Arch. We were very ambitious at arriving at sunset and staying 8 and 1/2 hours to wait for the milky way. Time passed quickly because of all our great conversations, but wow, did it get cold while sitting on sandstone!

All of my photos are available in 4 of my favorite mediums: Canvas, Paper, Metal, and Acrylic.
Paper prints are printed on Fuji Pearl paper which is my absolute favorite paper and has a beautiful glossy shine with incredible depth and contrast that has a pearlescent sheen that is noticed as you move about the picture.
Canvas prints are printed on a thin-wrap canvas which minimizes loss of the edges and is covered with a metallic finish for an extra POP of color! All canvas prints come read to hang and float a 1/2" off the wall creating a light 3D shadow effect.
Metal prints are printed directly on aluminum and are very contrasting with rich colors. All metal prints come read to hang and float a 1/2" off the wall creating a light 3D shadow effect.
Acrylic is my absolute favorite medium to print on and is the grandest way to display my work! Why? It is a metal print encased within 1/4" thick plexiglass that is not only incredibly vibrant and deep in color but also has literal and perceived depth from all viewing angles from that 1/4" thickness. Acrylic photos come ready to hang with a French cleat attachment.
